The QFS
System Dashboard allows storage administrators to see the impact of their
policies and see trends in their end-users’ compliance
Nashua, NH — May 28, 2009 NTP Software, the worldwide leader in the real-time control and management
of unstructured data, today announced the availability of NTP Software QFS®
System Dashboard (QSD). This enhancement to NTP Software’s flagship product, QFS®,
provides a graphical and tabular view of the impact of storage policies on the
end-user community. It also identifies trends in end-users’ compliance and can
show when one or more policies are creating a hardship for storage users with
valid needs.
In today’s sophisticated storage environments,
it is very difficult for companies to get a handle on all of the activities
occurring in the environment. This includes the impact of an organization’s storage
policies on its end-users.
The purpose of NTP Software QSD™ is to allow storage administrators to get a
snapshot of their users’ status relative to policy and to project this forward
into the future. High-quality service and customer (end-user) satisfaction is always
what matters most. QSD shows both the level of service delivery and provides
aggregate and specific information about end-users who have interacted with, or
perhaps who have even received denials from, storage policies.
“Organizations
of all sizes are leveraging policy-based management tools to help manage and
secure their storage more effectively. Given the potential impact of a data
breach to a business, it is critical to recognize abnormalities and
unauthorized attempts to access information in real time,” stated Bob
Laliberte, analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. “NTP Software’s QSD and SEAM™ arm administrators with the
information required to see patterns and trends, and to respond quickly to any user
problems or potential security issues.”
QSD provides
current statistics and historical trends relating to the interaction between
end-users, storage resources, and the organization’s storage policies. QSD
provides summary information and trends by user, policy, or system, across all
of a company’s storage platforms. By extrapolating the trend lines, customers
can anticipate the future impact of their storage policies, and see what
changes might be appropriate.
“Over the years customers have shared with us how difficult it is to
stay on top what is going on in their storage environments” said Bruce Backa,
CEO of NTP Software. “With the growth and complexity of today’s storage platforms,
this burden keeps increasing. We developed QSD to assist our customers in
understanding how their users are interacting with corporate storage policies,
and what the overall impact of their policies is on the end-user community.”
The NTP
Software QFS System Dashboard (QSD) will be included with the next release and future
versions of QFS at no additional charge. Further press information on QSD can be
obtained at www.ntpsoftware.com/qanda.aspx.
