(NYSE: ARW), and NTP Software, the worldwide leader in the management and control of unstructured data, today announced that they have signed an agreement designating Arrow ECS as the distributor for NTP Software products in North America.

Arrow ECS represents more than 75 hardware, software and storage suppliers.  It is focused on providing a high level of support to its partners by connecting them to the products they need to fully address their customers’ IT needs.  The entire NTP Software product line will be available to Arrow ECS North American partners.  The products will be sold as solutions for NetApp storage hardware, as the products were designed to work with this hardware and therefore are easy to install.

Boulet continued, “This agreement underscores Arrow ECS’ commitment to serving the needs of our partners, particularly those with mid-market customers.  NTP Software solutions are ideally suited for mid-sized companies.” 

Through its product line – which includes NTP Software QFS®, NTP Software Storage M&A™ and NTP Software SBS™ – NTP Software is establishing a new niche in information technology solutions around “storage firewalling.”  A Storage Firewall™ system controls what goes into the storage environment by implementing policies monitoring the passage of data into a user’s network.  The policies go beyond virus protection and offer more robust environment protection and better control over unstructured data. 

One of the key benefits of NTP Software’s products is an end-user self-service feature that educates the end user on company storage policies; interactively warns them when they are potentially transgressing a policy; and allows them to manage their own storage by eliminating unwanted files such as duplicates, large or old files and requests more storage in real time.  End-user self-service reduces the amount of help-desk calls around storage management to a bare minimum while getting the end users directly involved in management.
