HSN Selects NTP Software to Assist in the Control of Their Unstructured Data

NTP Software, first in the control and management of unstructured data, announced today that the Home Shopping Network, a global multi-channel retailing giant offering thousands of products to enhance all aspects of its customers’ lives, has selected NTP Software to analyze utilization trends and set policies to control unstructured data consumption within their Network Appliance environment.

With 4,500 employees, handling 66 million calls each year along with the logistics of shipping over 50 million packages worldwide, HSN needed a solution that would roll storage consumption back to acceptable limits by applying their company policies and executing best practices throughout the organization.

To cut back on storage costs, HSN deployed the analytical reports provided in Storage M&A to predict short-term and long-term trends. M&A outlined pre-existing risks and highlighted areas for concern within their network. Once HSN had visibility, they were able to execute their company policies throughout the organization using QFS to set proper storage limits and automatically block or remove unwanted and illegal content.
